JESSICA ALDRIDGE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
As the Executive Director for Burbank Green Alliance (BGA), Jessica Aldridge strives to develop and orchestrate programs and events that educate, empower and facilitate change among the community. She works with businesses, schools and cities to provide next step solutions in environmental sustainability, paying special attention to site-specific program design, employee training and customer education. Her environmental consultation services have included creation of Zero Waste event policies for the City of Burbank; development of Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center’s first green team and recycling program; green production design for Los Angeles-based theater companies and film festivals; and implementation of recycling/composting services for businesses, events and festivals. In particular, Jessica specializes in Zero Waste event planning and environmental education.

Because of her commitment and efforts, Jessica was recognized in 2010 for excellence in Environment/Energy Efficiency at the 11th Annual Women in Business Legislative Update and Awards, awarded by Senator Carol Liu and Assembly member Anthony Portantino. In 2011, she also completed the California Resource & Recovery Association (CRRA) Industry Certification.

In 2007, while working for Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Jessica took the lead on developing their first ever Green Team and pilot recycling program. More recently she worked for the Burbank Recycle Center, specializing in Zero Waste Event Coordination and was instrumental in the development of the BGA.  In 2010, she was contracted by the City of Burbank to create their first Zero Waste standards for large events and venues. During her tenure with the BGA, Jessica has been directly involved in the development and coordination of successful, solution-oriented outreach programs including industry workshops, business training courses, environmental film series, business networking events, and two art reuse programs. She has cultivated a membership database of over 900 individuals, who receive a monthly e-newsletter with topics on environmental news, tips, and events. Currently she is professor for the new Recycling and Resource Management program at Santa Monica College.

In addition, Jessica has worked for various nonprofit organizations including the Alzheimer’s Association Orange County Chapter, Earth Resource Foundation, Friends of El Faro, Sundance Institute, LA Commons, and UC Irvine Medical Center. By combining her theatrical background with her sustainability training, Jessica has assisted numerous 99 seat theaters with integrating environmental practices. She has also hosted environmental themed programs for Burbank TV6 and EcoBurbank.com and is a published, second author for an article in the Journal of Child Neurology.

Raised in a military family, Jessica Aldridge credits both North Carolina and Utah as her homes-away-from-home. She earned her bachelor's degree in Arts Administration from Westminster College of Salt Lake City, Utah. She initiated this contracted interdisciplinary degree for her alma mater – which is currently the only undergraduate degree in Arts Administration in the Intermountain Region.
